![]() Add ocean freight from Japan on top of that and maybe it takes at least a month to bring new shipments of games to the stores. The leadtime on manufacturing video games has got to be at least a couple of weeks. Nintendo has been know to play games with supply and demand in order to tease customers, ultimately influencing people to buy games at least partially with the element of FOMO. I suspect there may be shenanigans at play. I just don't trust Nintendo's supply chain not to become hijacked by fuggin' scalpers (which, as far as I've heard, isn't that already happening and it isn't even out yet?) I've had some distractions from my gaming time at home over the past couple weeks so I haven't put more than 2 hours or so into it yet but I plan to finish it all the way to the end. It feels kinda fresh, since it's been so very long and because it just looks and sounds so good. So yeah, I've been taking the game at a leisurely pace. Honestly, if this kind of effort is what we can expect from Retro Studios, I'm sincerely excited for Prime 4. They've really overhauled quite a significant portion of the technicals. At first I thought, " Well, I could just play my GC copy again" but the more I looked into the remaster, the more I realized just how much incredible effort went into it. While, yeah, 2D Metroid is still my jam, I actually really loved the original Metroid Prime and I hadn't revisited it since about 2004. ![]() ![]() For one, because I made the decision with my Switch that I was going all-digital (makes the most sense for me with a console that's intended to be portable) and for another.I just don't trust Nintendo's supply chain not to become hijacked by fuggin' scalpers (which, as far as I've heard, isn't that already happening and it isn't even out yet?) I won't be bothering with a physical copy. I bought it (digitally) the day after release. Kind of makes up for the +10 dickery to come with Zelda. I'm shocked and happy they did a $40 price point given they could have easily squeezed people for $50 or $60 too. The proper control after so long makes it flow so smoothly it's a real breath of fresh air it needed along with the rest. I'm loving being lost again in this since I forgot the game largely for detail, it's nearly fresh, and the upgrades made it feel more fresh which is great. One could easily surmise the engine here is the core that MP2 and maybe 3 remaster will get which in turn likely is the engine MP4 will have us tinkering in another year down the line or so. The game, it's amazing, amazing then and even more so now, which was a hell of a tall order they filled. What they've done is nothing short of the jaw dropping refresh the already still beautifully detailed Dead Space received, yet in a way, more, going from SD(480p) to 1080/720p and all the added details increased, better detailed, more tweaks and turns, not to leave out the finally fantastic control with the defaulting twin sticks. Yet with the power of the Switch, the changes are largely stark, obviously, and 99% for the better. That said, the game was beautiful then, the beefed up raw digital feed to HDMI made it look WiiU stunning with less polygons. The original (and as of months ago 2) I own on GC, and I have an HDMI mod for it too. I haven't touched it honestly in probably 20 years anyway so whatever, glimpses of memory but feeling pretty new despite it being anything but. I moved through that first chunk of magmoor and wrong turned over to tallon again instead of over to the drifts. In Meristation we already told you the dates, times, and how to watch this new edition full of video games and announcements that can be enjoyed online these days.I got it the day it came out, I've only touched it 3 days since since out of my control largely things go in the way then it was late tired/too late to care. Is Nintendo holding back the Summer Game Fest announcement?Į3 2023 may be on hold, but we’re still hoping for a Direct as part of Summer Game Fest, the conference hosted by Geoff Keighley. However, Nintendo has gotten us used to the secrecy around its Directs, so the announcement could be given just a few days in advance. We will have to continue to wait, because although the appearance of this page of the British store of the Big N seems to bring us good news, there is still no official confirmation from the company, nor has a Nintendo Direct been announced to give us fresh news about the title. Metroid Prime 4 originally began development at Bandai Namco Studios in 2017, but Nintendo didn’t seem convinced by the pace of the game’s development, so development went back to square one in 2019, but this time with the original Metroid Prime developers, Retro Studios, in Austin, Texas.
